Dr. Starr is an active credentialed Fellow of The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). The oldest Implant Academy and the only one that issues US Circuit Court tested credentials. (link to Potts vs California). Dr. Starr teaches and mentors Doctor’s in the Oregon Implant Maxi Course � for the last four years. Dr. Starr has been a diplomat of the American Board of Oral Implantology/ Implant Dentistry since 2004. The ABOI uses the same testing techniques that all specialty boards use to test its doctors on a body of knowledge. The American Dental Association does not recognize Implant Dentistry as a specialty. Dr. Starr recognizes that Implant dentistry is one of the most complex disciplines and strives to demonstrate proficiency in it.

Since 1988 Dr. Starr has been a member and guest mentor of Dr. Richard V. Tucker Study Club. This study group focuses on the most elegant long lasting gold restorative dentistry.
